When God shows up.

Without going into to many details........I had one of "those" days again. They seem to be coming on so frequently lately. My faith has been tested, pulled and strained like I cannot believe. Life has been hard emotionally. It's been a roller coaster!! And not of love.(you know the song? "Roller coaster dun dun dun dun dun of love....")

But today He gave me these thoughts:

When God shows up.......He's not late!

When God shows up.........He's got a plan!

When God shows up........He didn't have to rsvp!!

When God shows up.........He's got something to say!

When God shows up........He SHOWS UP!

But lately, I'll be honest, whether you appreciate it or not.....lately, I've been going, "Ok Lord......you're going to show up...right???" "Right???"

Doubts, fears, failures, frustrations. Oh my goodness, they've been like little hungry geese eating all the seeds out of my heart! But the Lord so graciously used so many people around me to day to put those seeds back in their place!

When I look at Luke chapter 7 and see how God showed up for the Widow's Son who was dead.......I see that God always has a plan! A plan that will KNOCK OUR SOCKS OFF!And sometimes....just like he did with this widow....the plan surprises us. BIG TIME!!

Here in Luke we see Jesus heading towards a funeral procession. The mother who was also a widow is just devastated! And I love how the Lord shows up and says this to her:

v.13 "When the Lord saw her his heart went out to her and he said, "Don't Cry." v.14 Then he went up and touched the coffin, and those carrying it stood still. He said, "Young man, I say to you, get up!" v.15 The dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother."
When Jesus showed up here, he had compassion! You better believe that he sees every tear that we cry. He knows our hearts hurts and he feels compassion for us when we are sad, or how this mother was in a DEEP state of grief.

When Jesus showed up here, his hands TOUCHED the coffin, and those around came to a complete stop!

It made me think of these thoughts:

When we are being persecuted by others, gossiped by others, torn down by others, broken by other's thoughts and hurtful words, God will show up.... He can and WILL touch us alone......the others around us won't matter anymore. And then we will walk. Will we be raised up and able to walk with the touch of Christ!

The Lord is faithful and FULL of compassion. Oh my goodness...it just brings tears to my eyes!!

She Speaks is just a few days away! It makes my heart race and my stomach full of gitters. But I am SOOOO excited. I cannot wait to see what God does! He has already shown himself to me in GIGANTIC ways.

To each of you who are supporting me financially but also through prayer, support and love.........Thank you!!! None of this would be possible without you!!! I was so amazed at how many different people God allowed to be apart of this story!!! From my sweet old bible study girls, to so many awesome people at church, family members, PERFECT strangers, close personal deep friends, ministry leaders, blog readers and so many more!! Thank you ALL!!!

Thank you for understanding my heart. Thank you for trusting me with this huge opportunity. Thank you for simply believing in the Lord and what He can do through a vessel like this one. =)

So I can't wait to tell you what God does when He shows up at She Speaks!!! I imagine it's going to be amazing!!! I'll have lot's of pictures and lot's of thoughts I'm sure! =)

I can't believe that the She Speaks is so close. It will be fun to see everyone but...I think I have a big ole case of fear!

Nicki, you've been tagged. Come on over for a visit and I will be anxious to read your answers. I can't wait until your trip to She Speaks. I wish I could go, but for sure I have missed so much work with my 'condition' that I don't dare try. Take care.

I truly believe that God has already used you to touch others, but I'm so excited for you that you get to attend a conference to hone the tools He's given you!! It will be a KNOCK YOUR SOCKS OFF kind of experience in so many ways, I'm sure!!

And in answer to your question, no, that wasn't me on the cot last weekend. That was hubby's sister. We have a guest room in the basement and we used to have a futon in the front porch/toy room, but now that's become Peanut's bed. So we told SIL that she could gladly come, but that she'd have to bring her camping cot along!!

I find this story inspiring, too. The same could be said of the raising of Lazarus. It was good to stop by. My blog is http://threeswans.blogspot.com if you want to return the visit.

Interesting comment, Nicki. We wondered about homeschooling because our daughter had got to hate school so much. In the end, we didn't, but as you say, there is a LOT to think about.
