Randomness part 2

First, thank you all so much for your comments, e-mails and phone calls about our Hopie. I had so much peace yesterday from each and every one of you. I told her today that she has an army praying for her...she thought that was very cool!! So many of your comments brought me to tears, many good peaceful tears...especially Cindy's. So thoughtful and sweet. Thank you!

I will continue to keep you updated as we get closer to the surgery which is scheduled for the 18th of August. She still doesn't want to talk about the surgery, she is very scared. But, we told her we'd be having a big party for her so that made her smile a little. =) Anyone have any book ideas for children that are good for situations like this?

Kris and I are still concerned about her kidney. We have so many questions and don't really know what the plan will be after her surgery. I know the doctor wants to give her some time to heal up and see if the kidney will improve. So...it will be a waiting game. It helps that Taylor went through the surgery part as well, at least we kinda know what to expect, but the kidney thing is new to us this time.

God is in control.

Bible study was awesome last night! Once again the room was packed and hearts were moved by the hand of God. Kris will be getting the podcast up this weekend. Thanks honey. Keep praying for these women.....God is speaking!!!

Today is my 28th birthday (I feel old) and my SUPER sweet friends surprised me last night at bible study with a big cake and some beautiful roses!! I love these friends....they have been there for me through thick and thin and I just appreciated their thoughtfulness so much!

Ok....now the news I know you all dying to hear!!

"HOW IS THE EXTREME HOME MAKEOVER GOING???"

I told Kris this is his 15 minutes so he'd better milk it. He is. =)

First, he went on Tuesday for his first shift. They make all the volunteers park at a mall near our house and take a bus to the site.

When Kris got there, it was only him and like 10 other people! They were like.....Um where are all these hundreds of volunteers??

Well, turns out that day one was just packing up the family. In fact, listen to this. TY wasn't even in Charlotte! He literally knocks on one door, surprises the family and heads on another plane to do a taping of another family. They always have two shows going on at once.

I think that's why when you hear him talk, he's going like a thousand miles an hour......the man is in a hurry!!

Doesn't seem very practical to me, but who am I?

So, Kris gets to the house and he said that it was definitely very run down. Much needed repairs!

Here's who he's met so far:

Michael Moloney

Ed Sanders Kris said that everyone acts very "Hollywood". The street looks like a movie set with tents set up in front of houses, cameras on top of houses, cameras on telephone polls, trucks everywhere and golf carts running around everywhere! Can you IMAGINE living on that street right now?? OH my goodness!

And all the "VIP'S" have these really cool walkie talkie radios and there was an extreme security force all around!

They were given free lunch which Kris said was very yummy. He said it was the best job-site lunch he's ever had!

What can I say? He's easy to please!

While he was sitting eating lunch he recognized the voice of the person directly across from him, but couldn't figure out who it was right away. It was actually Greg Suskin from WSOC TV:

They spent the rest of their time just cleaning up things from the house, chopping down trees and setting up the barricade fence for the fans of the show.

He starts the "real" work tonight, Thursday, at 10:30pm. PM!!!

The electricians are in holding ground area and when they call out for the electricians to come, they literally rush out because they have four hours to get the first floor done and another four to finish the 2nd floor! So he will be pulling an all-nighter with the other electricians!! I'm sure they will have a blast! But hopefully not literally. =)

He's very excited about this opportunity to be apart of such an amazing project. It actually did not end up being the family we thought it was going to be, but it's still a very great family and very well-deserving.

I am heading up to Asheville with the girls tomorrow morning. My mom and dad are closing on their new house there today and the girls and I want to come and check it out. Kris will stay behind to finish up work and the rest of his shifts with the show.

So.....I don't know if I'll be able to update you or not over the weekend on all that he's doing with the show! But for sure on Monday I will have a great update for you!! We plan on going to the big reveal, Monday afternoon, so we can yell "Move that bus!".

Ok, so that's all the randomness for now! Have a great weekend!

I hope you had a wonderful birthday. Thank you for your sweet comments on my blog. I will be praying for Hopie. Bless her heart! It's all going to be okay. I think it is so cool that Kris gets to see the inner workings of the Extreme Home Makeover. Can he get a picture with Ty? That would be fun. You must let us know when it will air.

Happy Birthday...old, never!

My prayers are with you and I believe God will wipe away Hopie's fears. May she be so covered with His grace and love that she does well and this just makes her even dearer in God's eyes.

Your husband's adventure is amazing. You all are so busy with so many wonderful things right now. That is perfect timing with this surgery hanging over you...don't need too much time to overthink it.

Isn't our Heavenly Father wonderful to us?

Be blessed.

Oh girl-sorry to hear about Hopie. I am lifting up prayers. We are facing a possible surgery too due to the same reflux issue. No damage we know of yet but I feel the same things you are feeling as a mom with mine. Both have this and one child has more issues with it than the other. Anyway, I will be praying. These issues break my heart. God is bigger and our great Healer. May God direct the hands of those doctors.

The extreme makeover stuff is amazing. Have a great weekend.
Blessings,
Angela

Happy Birthday a day or two late!

For some reason, my email version hasn't been showing up. Sorry I missed it!

You've been tagged! Will you play? I don't like to disappoint so I played and you have to pass it on. LeAnn from P31 tagged me, so you can blame her

Happy Birthday waaaay to late!
Exciting news about your man!
Can't wait to hear the updates.
And now you are only about 30 minutes away at your Mom's and we are not going to get a chance to meet.
Maybe next time.
I will have to go back and read and see what is going on about the surgery. I miss a week and all sorts of things happen.
Love ya girl
