Longing for Heaven

Sweet words wouldn't you say? (deep sighs) It's been a great day just loving on Jesus today. Worthy of my praise would definitely be my thoughts right now....how oh how has the Lord blessed me just today? I awoke in a nice comfy bed, I had some great coffee, I received "a word" from Him, spent the whole day with one of my best friends who just makes me feel better about this life just in general, had a huge breakthrough in my thought life, realized how peaceful and loving our God is and how wrong my heart can be at times with my thinking of Him. God is so much bigger than this life and everything in it.

I think my heart is just changing. The things I once longed for, I long for no more. It makes me so teary eyed to think about how much my heart truly longs for the day to stand and meet our amazing, awesome, wonderful God. My eyes are truly on Him, I don't know if I've ever seen Him so magnified in my eyes, so close.....yet still not within arms reach. How things like paying bills or fussing with girly's over silly stuff just doesn't seem to matter all that much. I mean of course I need to pay our bills on time....but I guess I've just seen how much the "things" of this world are truly going to fade away.

Someone once said to me, "I can't imagine being in heaven and all we would do is worship God." I say if you feel that way, then maybe we need to look at our hearts and what we truly long for. Worship is so important to me, and yet I still can't help but wonder why people don't want to praise Him like they KNOW Him. Ya'll......we only get one shot at this life.....that it. One precious chance to make a difference in this world, to love on someone, to make an impact on a life, to hold each other and lift one another up. And I know if you know you are going to spend the rest of your life in His presence.......you wouldn't want to come back, because once we enter...it's going to be sweeter than anything in life. Sweeter than any praise and worship time we've ever entered into.....sweeter than sweet kisses from messy face babies.....sweeter than a million dollars...sweeter than the best smell in the whole world (fresh peaches).....the amazing things we have to look foreword to.

How incredible will it be to never have a hurt heart again, to never shed another tear, never to again long for any material blessing, never worry again about what people think of me, just to be still in the presence of God......(sighs) what an amazing thought. And to know that in heaven......we are not going to be like "see I told you, you were wrong". Oh friends....listen, listen to what God's word has promised us:

Revelation 4 (with my thoughts in between!)

Verse 2:
At once I was in the Spirit, and there before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it. 3 And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian. (never hear of carnelian anyone know what that is?) A rainbow (LOVE rainbows!!) resembling an emerald, encircled the throne. 4 Surrounding the throne were twenty-four elders (wonder who they are) They were dressed in white and had crowns of gold on their heads (sounds very "majestic") 5 From the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings and peals of thunder (sounds very loud). Before the throne seven lamps were blazing. These are the seven spirits of God. (my footnotes say this:"seven" symbolizes fullness, completeness or perfection) 6 Also before the throne there was what looked like a sea of glass, clear as crystal. (THAT sounds very cool!!)

WOW, and that's just a glimpse of the THRONE. Oh I just can't even imagine what else is there....how beautiful and incredible our eternal home will be!! Sometimes I can't help but wonder if God does give us "glimpses" into our eternal home! Oh how I can't wait and I hope you can't wait to!! So until then....here I am, just longing for the day, making the most of each day He gives me and truly just trying to live for HIM! I'm glad I've got some good buds along the way!! =) So thanks bloggers for letting me share my thoughts tonight! Have a blessed night!

Hey girl.
Thank you so much for this post.
My heart has been dealing with some big issues.
Things coming up that can't be stopped and yet I am telling God I don't think I can go there again. I heard someone say recently that God is attracted to our weakness. Feeling pretty weak.
How we can be so up one moment and so discouraged the next. Longing for heaven and yet wanting to walk victoriously here.
Thank you for these thoughts.
