Flooding my heart!

We got some R-A-I-N!!! OH MY Goodness! It's like the great flood of 2008 here in Charlotte today!!

It's great for our drought but a real mess for a lot of people, my man included. Our Church's basement flooded, the school's field house, ball fields and the phone lines are all flooded. So he's going to have a rough day!!

All this rain has got me thinking this morning. How quickly we can go from a serious drought to more rain than we can handle! Sometimes I feel the same way. At one point my life can be so dry and dull and the next it's like the Lord just poured water all over my soul. And sometimes, it's just to much!

These past few weeks I have felt many times that my heart was being flooded and didn't know what to do with the over pour! Good and Bad.

I have felt flooded from motherhood, wife hood, friendships, duties and responsibilities and just life. Sometimes it feels like I am being washed away, drowning in it all!

But, I have also felt flooded with His peace that passes all understanding too. His provisions that make me stand in awe and the way He speaks to me sometimes that makes me tremble.

This morning as I woke up, very grumpy from another interrupted night's sleep from a certain little boo who is afraid of every rumble of thunder and who wanted cereal at 2am, a leaking roof and two girls that were in need of some serious hair products.

I again felt "flooded". As I begin to ask God some of my "but why's?", He quickly reminded me of one of His promises to me.

"Call to me and I will answer you & tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know."
-Jeremiah 33:3

Do I think this means that God is just going to plop down a piece of paper with my answers on it?

No.

But, I know if I will listen, if I will seek and if I will trust, I will find my hope again in Him. And the hope I have in Him will lead to obedience in all areas of my life, no matter how hard it is!!!

Well, for now, I can find my laughter in the Kennyboo. Oh that child. If you only knew how many baby wipes are scattered around my house at this moment.....

ps-I'm so excited to have my first giveaway next week!!

pss-Will you pop over to my friend Cindy? She's gotten some tough news this week and needs to be covered in prayer!! I love you girl.

Aren't babywipes considered home decor?

I love you my friend!

Sorry about the water complications, but I have been praying for a reversal of the drought for weeks. In the Carolinas it was beginning to look drastic on our water levels. In order to bring our water tables up to normal we will have rains like this week for a long, long time. My prayers are with all of you with the power issues and flooded homes and businesses.

God bless....He heard our prayers. We have water necessary to life.

We have had the rain too!
I know that we need it so I would not dare ask God to stop it. But I have to say that I was ever glad to see the creek start to become a creek again.
I sure hope you get some sleep soon. And God knows that you need some too.
Praying that you get a good nights rest tonight.

Thanks Nicki I really needed to be reminded of this too. I pray for a good night sleep for you too. Hang in there. I have baby dolls scattered over the house here. I'll have to take a picture of the play tent and show you all the dolls camping. =)

The overpoor of rain can be really bad I too got a littel much this year too.
I like how you put into God doing the same in you. I tend to become over whelmed by to much very easily.
